Introduced in May 2011, the iMac (Mid 2011) models improved on the previous iMac (Mid 2010) line, adding quad-core processors across the line. The iMac (Mid 2011) were also the first desktop Macs to include the new high-speed Thunderbolt I/O port. The iMac (Mid 2011 ) shipped in four configurations:

Built-to-order options included up to 16 GB of RAM, 2.8 GHz or 3.4 GHz quad-core Core i7 processors, a 2 TB hard drive, a 256 GB SSD, and 2GB of VRAM.
